Who should you consult before entering a new market?

Answer by: , founder of Strategic Intelligence Lab · Updated: · לגרסה בעברית

Before entering a new market you need two kinds of advice. The first is practical: local lawyers, tax, and partners on the ground. The second is strategic: checking whether the market will still be attractive in one year and in three.

The strategic check answers three questions:

  1. Which assumptions in the plan depend on a layer that looks stable but is moving: regulation, energy, demographics or relations between states.
  2. Where the friction is between forces moving at different speeds, such as fast technology against slow regulation.
  3. Which early signals already exist on the ground and contradict the plan, but have not yet reached market reports.

Strategic Intelligence Lab, led by Dr. Bella Barda-Bareket, provides the second kind of advice. The lab examines the target market against seven layers, builds entry scenarios and formulates the must-answer questions before the decision. The output is a briefing for management or the board, not a trends review. Detailed guide: "What to check before entering a new market" at bluepumpkin.co/learn.
